Another example - Can you spot what's tricky about these data?

You cross a triple-mutant female fly from its stock vial with a wild-type stock male.  The F₁ females are testcross and the following data are obtained:

reduced bristle, black body	1132
reduced bristle, thread arista	27
black body, thread arista	31
reduced bristle	30
thread arista	1087
reduced bristle, black body, thread arista	1295
wild type	1201
black body	31

a)    Provide gene symbols using the three-letter system you read about in the Advanced 

      Nomenclature worksheet.
b)    Draw the genetic arrangement of the F₁ fly, the tester, and the P generation.
c)    Map the genes and draw the map.

d) (Not in solution below - but why can you not calculate interference? I leave that to you!)
